Incredibles Sequel Concept Art

Nah, not really. Hi, I'm Phil; I like to make movies, and therefore always think of interesting ideas and have this rather bad habit of sticking to them. I have experience in a few facets of art as well, therefore I try as best I can to draw and paint to flesh out ideas I have in my head for movies or other artistic storytelling concepts. One of these struck me the other day (well, the other day being four days after watching The Incredibles in 2004) that there should be a TV show that serializes and continues the movie by Pixar Animation Studios. Heck, I even had a dream I ran into Brad Bird (the director) and pitched the idea to him. The Dream-Brad-Bird was all over the idea, maybe that's a good thing.

Anyway, as more Pixar sequels/prequels and spin-offs are being produced, it's almost a crime that the one movie they have that was tailor made for continuation still hasn't been conceived for a 'part 2' yet. So, I found a fellow artist who had - what I think - is an absolutely perfect pitch to a sequel that goes beyond expectation (in my opinion). Please take the time to read - you won't regret it! It's tentatively titled "The Incredibles Return" and has a twist from the get-go, and makes fantastic references to the whole American comic-book superhero phenomena and expands it in quite the natural way that it would as a sequel.

Now that you read that, you should know that I really love both Violet's and Jack's design and I think there's a lot of potential in that mine Mr. Joe England uncovered. It's good! Especially some more character concepts he suggested.

Anyway, I tried my hand at some very basic sketches and conceptual things to further this idea out, just for fun.

  1. I've been looking at that art, for three or four years now. I still think it's great! Thank for introducing it! And I'm also a real fan of art myself!
